Avery-Thompson Fencing Company is a family-owned business that has been around for two generations. Originally founded by John Avery and Geoff Thompson, the business is now run by the sons of the two builders. Avery-Thompson gave us a call after noticing some of our other recent branding work and wanted to discuss updating their company logo to catch up with the times – we gladly accepted the challenge.
After running through a handful of different ideas, we collectively came to the unanimous decision to make use of the simplified fencing illustration, which uses the Gestalt principle to create shapes in the negative space adding a layered effect to the icon.
Once we had created a new brand that everyone was happy with, we could begin applying it to their stationery to create a consistent theme throughout all their marketing and operating materials.
